Day 01 - Arrive Delhi


Arrive at Delhi and get greeted by our tour representative on day 01 of the Maharaja Retreat Tour. Transfer to the hotel. Step into the hotel and have the first experience of Indian warmth and hospitality. Ladies in traditional local costumes greet you with garlands and perform the "aarti" ceremony and put the traditional red "Tikka" on the forehead.

Capital of India, Delhi is global city with a perfect blend of modern cosmopolitan and rich traditional culture. Seat of the Indian Government, Delhi is the second largest metropolis in India and is located on the banks of River Yamuna. Known for its glorious past, Delhi houses large number of monuments and is a major tourist attraction of the country.

Day 02 - Delhi


Take a city tour of Delhi and cover Laxmi Narayan Temple - The Place of Gods, India Gate - The memorial of martyrs and the Parliament House - The Government headquarters. In the afternoon take a city tour of Old Delhi cover places like Jama Masjid - The largest mosque in Asia, Red Fort - The red stone magic, Gandhi memorial - The memoir of father of the nation etc. In the evening enjoy the sound and light show. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 03 - Delhi - Agra


Drive to Agra and enroute visit the Emperor Akbar's tomb at Sikandara. On arrival in Agra, the "Chobedars" (gate keepers) usher guests to the lobby of the hotel. Traditionally dressed ladies welcome the guests with flowers and "ittar" (perfume) in traditional style. After check in, relax for a few hours. In the afternoon take lunch and visit the Red Fort, the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah and shop for some time.

Evening reserved for a Magical Mughal night: where guests with traditional "Pagris" (turbans) and " Chunnis" (scarfs) are welcomed with a shower of rose petals and "ittar" (perfume). Attendents attired in traditional dresses serve a sumptuous meal in Silver Thalis (plates) on "bajot" (low tables) to guests seated on mattresses.

Known for the majestic Taj Mahal, Agra is a beautiful city in the Uttar Pradesh state of India. Located on the banks of Yamuna River, Agra is one of the major tourist destinations of India. Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri are the three notable structures of Agra and declared UNESCO world Heritage Sites.

Day 04 - Agra


Enjoy the spectacular view of the Majestic Taj Mahal and enjoy a typical ride on a Rickshaw up to the Taj Mahal. Also visit the local Bazaar (market) where you will witness a large collection of spectacular work on marble.

In the evening we will organize a Village fair Theme for you. A village setting is created with bamboo huts, benches and stalls. It is a great idea as it gives chance to the villagers to mingle with guests and display their traditional skills such as doll making, puppet making, pottery "pichwai" paintings and other crafts. Monkey show, a palmist, a snake charmer and a performance with dummy horse dancers and singers are other sources of entertainment provided on the Maharaja Retreat. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 05 - Agra - Jaipur


Proceed to Jaipur and enroute visit Fatehpur Sikri - old deserted town of the Mughals. Check into the hotel on arrival, where a Maharaja's welcome awaits you. A stunning tableau of decorated camels and Elephants unfolds before you on the lawns of the palace-hotel. Get a warm and traditional welcome by ladies in Rajasthani costumes performing the traditional garlanding, "aarti" and "tikka" ceremonies while the music of the Shehnai welcomes you. Afternoon kept free for you to have feel of the city. Return to the hotel.

Capital of Rajasthan and once the former capital of the princely state of Jaipur, Jaipur is known for its rich culture and heritage. Founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II Jaipur was also the first planned city in India.

Dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 06 - Jaipur


Take an excursion to Amer Fort. Enjoy the interesting joy ride on an Elephant. In the afternoon, go on a half-day city tour and cover places like Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar - the Royal Observatory, Nawab Sahab-Ki-Haveli, City Palace, Johari Bazaar etc. In the evening enjoy a Rajput Wedding: a traditional Rajput Wedding where the group members participate as the "baraat". A festive buffet meal, music, folk dances and a few rituals would be performed during the party. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 07 - Jaipur - Samode


Depart for Samode in the morning. On entering the village-decorated camels await, you can access the palace on the carts. On arrival you will receive a traditional welcome by village elders and the village belles full of local attire showering rose petals on the group. Check into the hotel. Take some rest and after which enjoy cocktails arranged at Sheesh Mahal. Enjoy the cultural extravaganza at the Durbar hall.

Known for its elegantly decorated Havleis, Samode is a quaint little village in Rajasthan state of India. The Havelis lie against the backdrop of stony hills and are major tourist attraction.

Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 08 - Samode - Mandawa


Morning kept free for you. Enjoy the interesting camel ride and explore the rural lifestyle. Later take a drive to Mandawa. Check into the desert Resort and get a traditional welcome. In the evening enjoy Gala barbecue with campfire. You can get mesmerized by the sweet music played by the desert dwellers.

Known as the Rajsthan's “Open Art Gallery”, Mandawa is adorned with beautifully painted Havelis and mansions and lies in the heart of the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan.

Day 09 - Mandawa - Delhi


Day starts with a visit to havelis. After which drive back to Delhi. On reaching check into the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 10 - Delhi


Take breakfast and check out from the hotel. Take a short trip to Old Delhi covering Jama Masjid, Red fort, Gandhi memorial, shopping etc. In the evening drive to a countryside farm on the outskirts of Delhi for a gala farewell dinner along the poolside. Later transfer to the International Airport to board a flight for the onward destination.
